Every so often I run across a song that is so infectious and so full of sugary sweet saccharine goodness, that I have to just get enveloped in it's full on pop goodness and this song by Canadian born, Carly Rae Jespen is a song chocked full of everything nice. It's a super cute song about how you feel when you first meet someone and you get up enough gumption to actually ask them out and give them your digits. Do people still give the digits? Am I using antiquated slang? Any way, you exchange numbers with the stipulation, Call me... maybe. I mean, if you want to call you can but I'm going to sit over here and pretend not to be waiting for the phone to ring. It's all good, Aloof is my middle name. So, yeah it's all of that and it's filled with a super poppy chorus and a hook that will send you into a diabetic coma.
The video is also super cute and makes you all swoony and feel like a 15 year old girl again (yes, even you... I see you over there. I know you know what it feels like to be a 15 year old girl.) It doesn't take itself too serious and it fits the song perfectly. I would like to hear more from her to make sure I'm not gonna get "State Fair, Funnel Cake sick" from her music. You know, the sick you get when you eat too much funnel cake even though you know you should have stopped eating it a long time ago but it's so cloyingly sweet, you just can't stop. Anyway, watch the video and tell me what you think.
