Stereo Explosion - Try It

I was gutted when The Ark decided to call it quits.  Not only am I a huge fan of theirs but Swedish music in general.  I don't think there is really a country as a whole that produces as much quality pop music as they do.  There are notable exceptions, but as a whole, there is something magic in the water in Sweden that causes incredible music.  So when I found out 4 of the 6 members of The Ark reformed into Stereo Explosion, I was pretty happy then I heard their music and I became stupidly excited because they are creating amazing music.  It's not The Ark, but it'll definitely do.  They released a new track today, "Try It" and it's glam, it's funky, it's retro...it's great.  I really dig the reverence they are paying to music from days past but they are carving out their own path.  It's pretty righteous.  Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

New Albums to Review

I've just downloaded Culture Shock by Titus Jones and Arkeology by The Ark. I will be reviewing these shortly as well as all three albums by The Ex-boyfriends and The Rest is History by Same Difference.

Need Both Hands and a Map

I have dived head first into a very deep pool of pop music and I am finding it difficult to determine where to start. I have a laundry list of albums and artists and they are all good so bear with me while I sort through it all to weed out the good from the great and the mediocre from the crap. I think because I'm playing catch up with the rest of the global music community it is very difficult to keep up. I am trying to listen to new releases so that I am current but I also am trying to get with what I've missed.

Over the next little while, I will talk about Swedish Pop and more Brit pop and Australian pop in the form of the Amy Meredith Band. I know they are not the only representatives from the land down under but they are hot right now in my corner of the world so I'll talk about them.
