Dua Lipa - New Rules

Not going to do a lot of talking. Dua Lipa is making quite the name for herself and this gives me a lot of Marina and the Diamonds - which is a damn good thing. She's pretty, she's got a great voice and she serves fierce attitude in her videos. This video is a fantastic representation of girl power and solidarity between friends. It's a song about being strong and sticking to your guns when you don't necessarily want to when a boy or a crush is involved. There's a lyric that I think is genius.

"If you're under him, you'll never get over him."

She's doing a damn fine job of creating a song book of fantastic pop music and it's only getting better and better.

Dua Lipa - Lost in Your Light (f. Miguel)

Holy hell. This sound is MASSIVE. This track is so HUGE and it's gorgeous. Miguel and Dua are a perfect vocal match for each other. There's no jockeying for position. There's no arguing over who should have top billing. Even though it's Dua's song they both kill it on shared vocals and I could not ask for anything better. It's a fantastic song that just immerses you in this experience and it's good. Dua Lipa is quickly entering the ranks of Little Mix and Arianna Grande for me as far as young women that just make amazing music. This is going to be one of my new favorite songs. That's for sure.

Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah)

Another artist that doesn't get enough representation in the United States. I heard this song over the weekend on my "Gay Party Radio" on Pandora. I don't know if she identifies as a lesbian and that doesn't matter because this song is dope. It's reminiscent of Charli XCX and I love it. The video is so full of amazing visuals and the women in the video are all beautiful. Hands down one of the coolest videos I've seen in a while.
