Sergey Lazarev - Cure The Thunder (featuring T-Pain)

Sergey is one of my favorite male pop stars. He has an amazing stage presence and has no problems delivering the song he's singing. The fact that English is his second language has never appeared to be an issue for him and he has an amazing command over English language concepts and ideas. The fact that he has T-Pain in this song and video blows my mind because that can only be a sign for even bigger things to come for him. Maybe an American release of an album.

My question is, thought, what ever happened to the "Take it Off" video. He posted a behind the scenes video and then the actual official video never came out. Anyway, this track and video are super cool and it shows that he has a little bit of an edge to his voice. Not exceptionally sure what's happening in the video but all the people are pretty. What do you think?

Sergey Lazarev - Take It Off

I am a gigantic fan of Sergey Lazarev. There has never been a doubt about that. I appreciate his music. I dig his message and I think that he is a constant reminder that the world, yes the entire world, is a global music community. For whatever reason (I am going to blame stereotypes), it's hard for me to look at Russia and see a bustling mecca or a country that is capable of standing side-by-side with other countries when it comes to their musical exports. But then I hear Sergey and those misconceptions are cleared up. I think he is just as strong as most of the artists that get mainstream airplay in America and in a lot of cases he is stronger.

His brand of pop music elevates him to a level that not many male artists attempt to attain. He appears to never take himself too seriously and that shows in his music. He is an artist that simply enjoys what they do and it comes through in everything they do. This song, "Take It Off", is just a super sexy example of what can be done when you just let things happen. It's a bit dance, a bit pop, some sex appeal and just enough dubstep to not throw it over the edge. It's a great summer song and I think that if he were able to get airplay around the world this song would be huge. Take a listen and subscribe to his Youtube Channel and his Facebook page because you'll never know when your own notions may be challenged.

DJ M.E.G. - Moscow to California (featuring Sergey Lazarev & Timati)

I've been a fan of Sergey Lazarev's for quite some time. I think that he makes incredible pop music and it floors me to realize he's Russian. I think a lot of it has to do with this antiquated view of Russia that I have. Very Cold War meets Yakov Smirnoff. But I am a fan of most everything he does. This track is no different. The video shows Sergey and his lady friend separated due to her flight being cancelled because of fog. Sergey, DJ M.E.G. and Timati are frolicking in the Los Angeles sun and fun while she is stuck at home pining for him. It's a fun summer song and I dig the hell out of it.
